Senior Scientific Officer, Climate & Space Applications Expert
Dr. Akande is a climate scientist and space applications specialist whose work helps communities better understand and respond to environmental challenges. With over a decade of experience in meteorology, satellite remote sensing, and geospatial analytics, he’s passionate about using science to improve lives—especially across Africa’s most vulnerable regions.
His research focuses on climate change impacts, crop yield prediction, and early warning systems. He’s developed tools like the EARWAC Dashboard and contributed to global climate reports. Dr. Akande holds a PhD in Meteorology and Climate Science and has published over 25 peer-reviewed articles. He’s a member of NMETS, AARSE, and ISPRS, and collaborates with organizations like the World Bank and ACMAD.
Space Systems Engineer
Dr. Adebolu is a space engineer with a passion for building resilient satellite systems and expanding access to space technology. With a PhD in Space Engineering and hands-on experience across Canada and Japan, he has led mechanical and systems engineering for CubeSats and microsatellites ranging from 1 to 100 kg.
His career spans roles in R&D project management, spacecraft design, and mission integration. He’s contributed to global satellite initiatives like the BIRDS and SPATIUM projects, and holds certifications in Six Sigma and Google Project Management. Dr. Adebolu is also a mentor and advocate for inclusive innovation, supporting programs like the Zenith Canada Pathways Fellowship to help others launch their space dreams.
